 Transitions of PA is pleased to announce a very special video contest!  In this dating violence video contest, high school students attending schools in Northumberland, Snyder, or Union Counties can create a brief video focused on dating violence for their chance to win cash prizes. Entering the contest is easy… from now until February 14 th , 2017 students can create a 30-60 second video focusing on dating violence, this should include what a healthy relationship is, the signs of abuse and how to get help.  Participants should upload their videos to YouTube and send their links to heather_s@transitionsofpa.org . Transitions is pleased to announce the 2 nd Annual Teen Dating Violence Video Contest.  High school students attending schools in Northumberland, Snyder, and Union Counties are eligible to enter by creating a brief public service announcement focused on teen dating violence.  The entrants with the top three videos will win cash prizes. Entering the contest is easy. From February 1 st through February 28 th 2015 students can create a 30-60 second video focusing on dating violence; this may include what a healthy relationship is, the signs of abuse, and how to get help.  Participants should upload their videos to YouTube and send their links to heather_s@transitionsofpa.org. Over the years Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault crisis centers, such as Transitions, have been focusing on helping victims and survivors of sexual and domestic violence.   Through the years there has been specific focus on helping women and getting them into a safe place.   We know that a staggering number of women are affected by domestic and sexual violence every year, but have recently begun to learn about the large number of adolescents and teens that are experiencing intimate partner violence, or dating violence, as well. Every year in the U.S. at least 400,000 adolescents experience serious physical or sexual dating violence.   As students get older, sexual violence and dating violence still occur at troubling rates. In fact, about 70% of college students say they have been sexually coerced.
